Jungle Chop

We needed local villagers to help guide us to the caves most of the time. Much of the plateau was covered by broomstick and it was hard to negotiate. The locals had a machete-like knife with a wicked hook on the end called a "wait" (pronounced "white") to cut through the grass. This picture was taken a the beginning of a particularly grueling chop through the jungle.
