Well, the shoveling begins (note the flash picks up all the icy pellets still falling)
All was going well, until the snow shovel broke............
I tried using a broom to sweep off my truck. Here's a wine bottle for scale regarding how much snow fell.
7:30 am Update: Ya can't quite see it, but the snow has changed from icy pellets to giant flakes.
8:30 am Update: The snow is finally close to ending
Well, the broken shovel gave up the ghost.
Ouch came by for some breakfast, but was interrupted by the neighbor's shoveling, so he huddled on the tree.
At least shoveling is good exercise! I'm using a garden shovel now. Highly inefficient, but what else can I do? When I get too cold, I come in and update the web!
Many hands make quick work
The neighbors at the end of our road got together and shoveled what was left of the parking area where the plow couldn't go. Everyone was a great team player except for the lady with the little bronze car who complained that we weren't allowed to shovel snow into her yard (like there was somewhere else to put it???). We shoveled out her car anyway.
We've got a bet going as to when the glacier at the very end of the road will melt. Estimates are centering around 2 months from now.
(BTW, the guy in the 'Skins jacket had his hip replaced a few weeks ago!)
